I provide freelance web design and development services to individuals and small and medium size businesses. My specialty is lean, trim, visually pleasing layouts that are information-driven, not information-bloated. I am experienced at laying out and organizing large sites with hundreds of pages as well as dynamic content. Because I also have a visual arts background, I am very effective on both the technical and creative sides. I work out of my home and have no corporate overhead to pass on to you. Portfolio Samples

This is my personal site of course. Leiavoia.net features a very structured layout, simple yet effective graphics, and excellent use of color. This site is also optimized for modern web browsers which can use PNG image transparency and better CSS layouts, but defaults to a "regular" layout for older browsers like Microsoft Internet Explorer <6.0. Leiavoia.net features a full-width flowing layout which makes maximum use of horizontal screen space.

This is a commercial site that is currently being developed for a company that provides janitorial and building maintenance services. This site has not gone live yet, but this is the latest layout prototype the customer has chosen. This customer requested a sharp, "clean" look with a blue/green color scheme. This site is controlled entirely by Cascading Style Sheets.

The Orion Sector is a community for sci-fi computer strategy gamers, currently over 1,000 members. It was originally designed as a fan-site for a particular game but has since then branched off to encompass the entire genera. The current layout was designed by myself to make good use of horizontal space required for a content-driven site. The Orion Sector's dark background image and selective blue and green color scheme certainly define the site. The layout is light-weight but flexible.

Project AXIS is a programming project started by myself. The website for Project AXIS needed something spartan and sharp to facilitate large amounts of information. This site makes very good use of simple lines, clean spaces, and ample margins which lend to an organized look. The Project AXIS website is also completely laid out using Cascading Style Sheets.

This is a remodel candidate version of WinePress.US, a website and large community for home winemakers. This newer version removed much of the clutter that plagued the site and created a simple "old-timey" look for this hobbyist community. Easy color scheme, classic layout, and a few colorful accents create a relaxed and informal looking design. The photography and was done by myself as well.

This is actually a web application that manages publishing and syndication of news for websites. The interface creates a very clean and functional environment to work in. However, for users that wish to customize their version of NEWSlite, the application lets users modify it's own template-based output which means that NEWSlite can look like anything you can imagine. NEWSlite is open-source software and can be downloaded for free.
